The American Physical Society (APS) is piloting a new structure to support graduate students, postdocs, and early career scientists. This effort, APS Chapters, is launching a pilot effort this fall, supporting 5-10 chapters. APS Chapters hope to support its members with the tools to succeed as 21st century professionals, by facilitating an inclusive and equitable community structure, within which individuals will have opportunities to engage in professional development, networking, and advocacy/policy issues, etc.
APS Chapters seek to support the development of graduate students and early-career individuals as colleagues and future leaders. To achieve these goals and build cohesive communities that will strengthen the discipline, we will:
