Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.
The departmental environment at CU Boulder (Dept. of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences) has gradually come to the point where the numbers of students is one of the highest among physical sciences. We have probably reached a point where all students are evaluated by their academic credentials and performance, with little self-consciousness about gender-political issues. This atmosphere permeates our classes, our student-leadership and committees, and professional relationships between grad students, postdocs, and faculty thesis advisors.
Please include the name of faculty or staff member and an email they can be reached at for further questions.
