Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.

We strive to create a caring environment emphasizing individuals. Our department offers flexibility in crafting a graduate program to meet the needs of students. All of our students receive personal attention from the tenured faculty, and are advised on a regular basis with the goal of heading-off problems before they arise.
One of the three current Senior Lecturers in the department, one is female and is also currently the Associate Chair.
